Newbold Discipleship Group Newbold Discipleship Group - How does a disciple grow
Newbold Discipleship Group This week, we started a new gallery in our Sunday School room. Bible Baddies! We started with the bible's first baddy - Lucifer himself visiting Adam and Eve in the garden as a snake. We learned how things went badly wrong because of this encounter and the consequences for our world and it's people.
Newbold Discipleship Group Newbold Discipleship Group Over the last few weeks we have been adding to our 'heroes of faith' gallery. The kids are very familiar with these bible characters now and we have learned lots from their stories. We want to be heroes of faith just like them
Newbold Discipleship Group This morning our young disciples are practicing one of the proverbs we have been learning. We are thinking about how to be a 'good friend, true friend, here to help you through friend. Strong friend, kind friend, you can have what's mine friend. Best friend, sure friend, humble and a pure friend.' Lord we want to be a good friend!
Newbold Discipleship Group Over the last few weeks, we have been looking at some of King Solomon's proverbs. This morning we considered which words might bring life to those around us. Let's practice using fruit words and not poison words.
Newbold Discipleship Group This morning our Newbold disciples will continue with our 'what do we believe?' study. We have been learning this Graham Kendrick song to help us remember the foundations of our faith. Please join with me in praying for our children as they consider their own faith journeys.
Newbold Discipleship Group This morning we began to look at our salvation story, using these pictures. We learned the story of man's challenge for God's crown and the dreadful consequence for man. We also learned of Gods salvation plan through Jesus.
Newbold Discipleship Group Last night, at Praise Fest, some of our children helped to teach the adults Psalm 121. We learned that though we have trials of many kinds, we should not focus on the trial but lift our eyes to our helper who watches over us, keeps us safe from harm and never sleeps. Extra thumbs up for Miss Amy G who did some fantastic singing and bible memorising.
Newbold Discipleship Group After celebrating the birth of Jesus, this morning our Newbold disciples celebrated the birth of another special little baby ... themselves! We looked at Psalm 139 and learned how wonderfully made we all are. We began to learn Psalm 139 v 13 and 14 and we are doing an amazing job of it : )
Love is patient This morning we learned the next part of 1 Corinthians Ch 13 v 4 - 8. "Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered and it keeps no record of wrongs." Well done kids ... we're nearly there!
Salt of the Earth This morning our young disciples have been learning Matthew 5:1-16 with the help of a lovely song by Mark Tedder. 'You are the salt of the earth, you are a light to the world. You are a city so bright, so shine.'
Love is patient This morning the Newbold Discipleship Group started to learn 1 Corinthians Ch 13 v 4-8. 'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy.'
Good Good Father This morning the Newbold kids have been looking at the words of the worship song 'Good Good Father'. We looked for hidden thankyou prayers in the words of the song and found lots

Love Scriptures This month we will be learning four different LOVE scriptures from the bible. Yesterday the kids had a great time doing some marble painting and decorated hearts that we will put to good use next week : ) Karen taught us a song to help us learn our first LOVE scripture.
